I'm late to the party but
your sprite animating style is great, better than the SMBZ everyone compares every sprite animation to, ever, since it's inception.
You have a good sense of timing, and you do a great job of capturing sonic's personality and movements.
Don't let anyone tell you you're copying smbz, just keep doing your own thing. What do people really expect from sprites? they're all made the same way, so of course the animation is going to look similar, it's the IDEAS, that separate the sprite animators.
Good work man. One day you should translate your spriting skills into drawing frame by frame animation, I think you could pull it off.
Thanks and i have xD! is stick animate as well :D
Not bad.
It's a simple and easy to understand game. Seems like whatever you learned paid off.
I feel like it can get a little on the boring side as it goes on. It could probably use a little variety as the game goes on (like maybe different music every 5 levels or so, or maybe the ball goes faster)
This is very stylish and clean though. The game's physics are spot on also, as I felt as though I had some control over the ball's trajectory. Very nice
3.5/5 from me
Actually I planned on having "different" powerups/powerdowns, that makes the ball bigger, faster or slower or the paddle bigger or smaller.
Sadly with my limited knowledge I wasn't able to do that, so I had to make some compromises in order to make the january deadline.
Thanks for your thoughts!
I can see you learned quite a bit, but you still need a lot of work before you're ready to post, as I find this game to be incomplete and buggy.
The visuals need a LOT of work and I found them difficult to look at for long periods of time. The UI is awful. What you wrote is difficult to read and understand, and you need a spell checker big time. Whether or not these were supposed to be placeholder graphics, it's a moot point when you submit it, because now we have to assume it's completed.
Working knowledge of how to put a game together is good. What you should do from this point is restart and post in the collaboration section of the forums. See if you can assemble a good team to supplement you in all of the areas that you're deficient, and put together a clean and finished project based on your idea.
If you take my advice and create a forum post for help, make sure you spell out "clearly" what kind of game you're trying to build. This makes it easier for people to decided whether or not they want to work on it. So for these reasons, I had to vote 0 on this attempt.
Good luck in the future
I'm an RPG fanatic with insane ideas swirling about my head at all times. If you have the chance to watch one of my animations, you'll be wondering, "what was this guy thinking?". As long as you're not an idiot, we'll get along fine.
